How to wash your linen sheets?

Linen Care Guide

Would you like to wake up in the morning and enjoy the smell of fresh linen bedding? The mission is possible! To keep your linen sheets tidy, you need to know a few tips on how to take care of them. Let’s take a closer look.

Linen bedding looks impeccable and elegant, bringing a sense of classics and minimalism into your bedroom. Some people who have not tried linen bedding before may think it is harsh, but their opinion changes once they touch the linen material. The best feature of linen sheets is that they get softer and smoother with every washing cycle.

Be careful when you wash your linen sheets for the first time because linen can shrink up to 7 percent. For the first wash, choose a temperature of no more than 30 degrees. The water temperature is crucial in washing linen bedding – make sure that it is not too hot and the washing machine is set on a gentle cycle.

When washing your linen sheets, try using a mild detergent and avoid bleach or fabric softeners because they can cause stiffness or damage linen fabric. After washing linen bedding, make sure to wash out the detergents properly. Also, do not mix linen bedding with different materials or colours while washing your linen sheets.

Drying of the linen fabric is essential. Do not dry it in direct sunlight to protect your linen bedding because it will negatively impact the colour. Your linen bedding should be completely dry before using it.

Ironing of linen bedding is an object of discussion – some people suggest not to iron linen sheets at all, while the others claim that linen feels nicer and smoother when ironed. If you decide to iron your bedding, please do it only from the wrong side as it may leave shiny stains.
